JOY VS. DEPRESSION: BATTLE RAP VETS 3PFD AND MATT TISDALE FACE OFF IN THE NEWEST RELEASE FROM SLAP BATTLES
PITTSBURGH, PA… September 11, 2015… To follow up the release of the powerful “Fatherhood vs. Deadbeat Dad” battle, SLAP Battles presents the next release from their “Bars Over Bridges” card, “Joy vs. Depression”, aka the Battle to Truly Live.
This battled featured 3PFD in the role of Joy vs. Matt Tisdale in the role of Depression. These two are no stranger to battle rap, having been two of the few Christian rappers to compete in the secular battle rap circuit. They have competed in Grind Time Now, No Coast, Spit Dat Heat, and more. Now, they take their talents into the world’s first concept battle league, taking on a hard-hitting topic that affects many.
“I’ve wrestled with depression personally and seen those close to me affected by it as well, so this battle was very personal for me. To me, SLAP is more than just battle rap. It’s a chance to present real issues and struggles and show that God is powerful enough to deliver people and help them overcome.” said 3PFD.
Matt Tisdale recapped this battle and the event by saying, “First off it was an honor to be a part of this SLAP event, as well as to represent something that I have had a personal battle with. This was definitely something new for me to adapt to even coming from a battle background being heavy in the culture now. It forced me to a new lane I had never been in before with my writing. SLAP is innovative and this battle was something that needed to be represented in it. This platform has great potential and I look forward to being a part of more.”
