Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 4.29.30 PMTell us about your name William Weyes!

Well, my middle name is Wiliam so that’s where that comes from haha. As far as Weyes (which people say wrong all the time) (it’s “wise”) I try to keep my lyrics true, and itellectual anything you hear in a record is true.

Erie born and raised what brought you to the burgh for your music projects?

I’ve been a big Wiz fan for a long time, and a buddy told me I could actually go record where he got his start so I jumped on that asap. I’ve been working with Jerm for like the past year, and I can’t thank him enough for all his help and guidence. I love my hometown, and I rep it to the fullest, but the oppurtunities are far greater in the Burgh.

How does depression and anxiety fit into the inspiration in your music?1932431_909203135798935_3860814900257607800_n

It’s an everyday stuggle for me. It’s real. It’s not just something I can just change in the blink of an eye. You can hear those stuggles in my music for sure.

If you had to pick a mainstream artist that you feel you are most like who would that be?

That’s a tough one. I consider myself rather unique. But i get the Yelawolf comparision very often.

Fortunatly I’ve got all my favorite artists on this album. Hardo, Devin Miles, and Choo Jackson. I bump their stuff everyday. Salute to them.

What do you feel you offer thats unique to you as an artist?

I feel my lyrical content, and delivery is one of a kind. My music is 100% real. I try to combine that popular sound you would hear on the radio with conscious lyrics. I feel like that’s preety rare nowadays.

What are some milestones that you have most recently achieved this year?10931312_917846394934609_3422783305194803721_n

Getting in the studio with the Ying Yang Twins is a big one. And, the respect I get from my favorite artist, and my hometown is unreal.

What are some goals you have in place for 2015 both music related as well as in life in general?

The goal is to make a living from music honestly. I’ve never been a fan of my 9 to 5. I seek to inspire, and help people through my art. I’m looking to put my city on the map. And in life in general? Just to be a better person all around.
